SUMMARY:Reporting to the Vice President, GI Marketing, the Sr Director, GI Marketing will lead the development of the GI strategic plan, and line extension launch planning for possible new GI products and/or indications.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the cross functional effort required to generate and refresh the GI 3 year and annual strategic brand plansEstablish a strategic framework and lead potential joint commercial collaborations with partner organizationsCommunicate and ensure organizational alignment to GI strategic brand planManage the GI brand financial planCollaborate with the commercial operations team to ensure effective forecast development for GI indicationsSupport the brand by conducting periodic, deep-dive market assessmentsCollaborate with commercial operations to optimize market research effecting GI brand strategyDrive appropriate choices for required target product profileCollaborate with Sales Operations for development of sales incentives and sales analyticsResponsible for managing the GI brand budget and supports necessary ROI analysisEngage with GI key customers and accounts to develop market insightsExecute GI strategic programs as required by the brandEnsure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern Exelixis conductOther duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Directly supervise employeesIndirectly supervise employees through a dotted line structure or via other subordinate supervisorsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:Education:Master's degree in related discipline and 10 years of related experience; orBS/BA degree in related discipline and 12 years of related experience; orEquivalent combination of education and experienceExperience:Pharmaceutical marketing and/or strategic consulting experienceSales, sales management, and managed care experiences are plusOncology experience is requiredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities :Ability to develop sound strategic concepts and clearly articulate these to brand and cross-functional team membersCross functional leadership with the ability to build consensus and drive key decisionsHigh level of learning agility; comprehends all aspects of the market place that effect current and future brand performance (e.g. coverage, distribution, sales incentives, regulatory, and finance)Effective presentation and written communication skillsUnderstanding of FDA Regulations of pharmaceutical drug promotions and experience with Legal, Medical and Regulatory review processesKnowledge of reimbursement mechanisms for both injectable and specialty oral medicationsKnowledge of managed care environment, including pharmacy and medical benefit designStrong command of MS Excel and financial modeling abilityProject management skills#LI-CW1If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this positionis $220,000 - $312,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
