Washington Trust Bank is looking for a dynamic Communications Specialist to elevate both our internal and external content. On the internal side, you'll be responsible for informing, educating, and entertaining Washington Trust employees. Externally, you'll craft compelling customer-facing communication and marketing materials.

Experience working in the financial industry is a bonus, along with knowledge of project management software.

Essential Functions:

Develop and manage effective internal employee communication programs for corporate-wide and/or division-specific messaging. Customize and execute each strategy leveraging an appropriate delivery channel for the most impact on targeted audience.

Develop and manage customer-facing communications and content in support of business goals.

Write, edit, and coordinate the distribution of content with the intent to market, promote and increase the visibility of initiatives and accomplishments of the bank.

Manage and distribute content across all our utilized marketing channels.

Manage intranet content including the creation of articles and collaborating with business units on their requests for intranet news.

Collaborate with internal teams to develop editorial content for special communication programs, specifically certain client-facing/external communications.

Develop and implement communication plans relating to organizational initiatives; collaborate with division managers/business units as needed.

Provide counsel and tactical support to key organizational managers on planning, development and execution of employee communication.

Confer with/interview executives, managers, department heads, and other staff members to create communication plans around content and publishing schedules for intranet home page articles or division communication pieces.

Film, edit, and distribute video segments, including interviews, direct messages, events, seminars, tutorials, and more.

Perform compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred with a concentration in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field required; professional experience may substitute.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of individuals at various levels within the organization.

Excellent grammar, composition, and proofreading skills.

Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Knowledge of and experience with various office communication software applications.

Strong technical aptitude. Must be willing to learn and master new software and hardware as needed.

Prior LMS administration background helpful, but not required.

Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced office environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Knowledge of financial industry preferred.

Pay Range:

Communications Specialist I- $20.81 - $31.21

Communications Specialist II- $22.61 - $33.94

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, Washington. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
