Job Summary

Create engaging and dynamic digital content for the university, telling the Bethel story in a compelling way, in support of enrollment and fundraising goals through promotional videos, commercials, and audio, delivered in a variety of channels including web, broadcast, podcast, streaming, projection, etc.

Responsibilities

Video: Produce promotional videos and innovative news features; including everything from concept through sharing (scripts, scheduling, shooting, editing, producing, and providing a finished product in a variety of formats).

Identify the best multimedia approach to achieve desired results; build and maintain university-wide structure and processes for producing videos and capturing the Bethel experience through photos.Photography: Shoot and produce stunning photography and video b-roll that enhances all creative marketing materials.Schedule shoots with appropriate timing, locations, and subjects.Manage, organize, tag, and maintain visual assets and equipment.Research and maintain creative ideas and current techniques.Consults with communication specialist and web designers on projects.Manage student workers to aid in the production of photos and video.Administration and organizational duties.

Required Skills

Demonstrated ability scheduling shoots, staging and directing on location, and processing both photographs and video footage.Experience in post-production including capturing, editing, coloring, and audio.Working knowledge of SLR/ video cameras, basic lighting, sound equipment, and editing/production software needed.Proficiency with Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere or Final Cut Pro.Working experience with photography and videography equipment in the studio and in on-site situations.Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, as well as independently with limited supervision.Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects based on deadlines.Creative and artful eye for imagery - and the ability to capture it.Working knowledge of After Effects or Motion a plus.

Experience

Required:Experience in videography and photography for creative production.

Education

Required:Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Media Arts, Video Production, Photography, Graphic Design or a related field.

Additional Information

Must be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer.This is a full-time benefit eligible position.

40 hours per week, 12 months per year. Requires some evening, weekend, and holiday on-call support. Will work around course schedule.Salary: $45,000/year.
