About the Role

Ogilvy is looking for a highly driven, organized, and passionate

Account Executive

with an interest in community engagement and/or risk communications. This role will primarily support our continued work with FEMA on the Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC) contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a federal agency and a large, dynamic team encompassing a network of behavior change, disaster resilience, risk communications, emergency management, community outreach, partnership building, community planning, and engineering experts. This unique program functions on national, regional, and community levels to engage, equip and empower a broad array of national and local stakeholders around the issues of natural disaster mitigation, climate change adaptation, and capacity building to empower communities to drive resilience.

This full-time position works collaboratively with colleagues in Washington, D.C., and 10 regional offices nationwide to accomplish significant results in the areas of raising understanding of local vulnerabilities and driving action to strengthen communities. Potential stakeholder audiences include Federal officials, State and local officials, community planners, emergency managers, professional groups, businesses, and local residents.

What You'll Do

Work integrally with all internal team members in the development and delivery of great work;

Support the management and execution of community engagement projects, including coordination of the content, location, attendees, and format in direct consultation with local jurisdictions, states, and federal agencies;

Support the development and coordination of localized strategic communication plans and content related to community resilience for local, state, and tribal governments;

Perform research;

Support the development and management of existing and new partnerships with local influencers; consumer, nonprofit, and business organizations; and professional organizations;

Assist in preparation of a variety of written materials, including community profiles, engagement reports, communications plans, partnership agreements, locally tailored outreach tools, and materials, and reports;

Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to identify opportunities for more creative and comprehensive outreach and communication materials that visually describe engagement processes; and

Collaborate with the internal project team in the development of staffing and scoping requirements for numerous projects.

What You'll Need

1+ year of related, client facing industry experience managing "the making" or delivery of great work.

Knowledge of or interest in climate change resilience and/or hazard mitigation at the local, state, or federal level.

Familiarity with or interest in equity-centered approaches to community engagement and program delivery.

Ability to think strategically about issues and message development.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to perform research and analysis.

Organized and detail oriented.

Dependable and collaborative team member, willing to take on new challenges.
