Job Objective:

The Divisional Music & Gospel Arts Coordinator assists the Divisional Music & Gospel Arts Director (DMGAD) in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the music and gospel arts programs in The Salvation Army Kansas & Western Missouri Division.

Essential Functions:

Assist in all planning, implementation, and/or evaluation relating to the following:

Regional Music Schools (lead KC location)

Music Conservatory Camp

Music & Gospel Arts Institute

Divisional Gospel Arts Day

Worship Ministries Workshop

Rising Stars

Music Leaders' Summit

Provide oversight of Bravo Music & Creative Arts Programs in the Kansas City region

Provide music support as needed for divisional events

Provide leadership and consultant support for Salvation Armyyouth music programs as assigned

Assist the DMGAD in delivering effective leadership training, harnessing the development of church music leaders, musicians, and worship planners

Assist with the publicity and implementation of Divisional Music and Gospel Arts events and initiatives

Participate in divisional music and gospel arts performing ensembles

Serve during the Christmas season on the DHQ Christmas Brass Ensemble

Participate on divisional committees relating to music and gospel arts initiatives

Assist with transport, set up, and tear down of divisional sound system for all divisional events

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Music; music education preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education

Experience:

Experience with The Salvation Army music and arts program; choral leadership experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

This position is required to do light physical work period in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use instruments and equipment needed in a music program. Frequent use of standard office equipment is also required.

Driving:

Driving is required; employee must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Working Conditions:

The work environment for this position includes a program environment with moderate to high noise level; some evening and weekend work required; position will serve at camp for two weeks during the summer
