Job Summary

The incumbent will provide essential skills to create, deliver, and maintain a professional communication presence for the CTSC as reviewed and approved by the department of Public Affairs and Marketing. The position has an essential role to help convey current, accurate, and timely information to constituents through the website, listservs, calendars, fliers, brochures, newsletters, and social media to support CTSC program activities. The incumbent will work under direct supervision of the executive director and collaboratively with the CTSC program development officer and program managers as well as the Department of Public Affairs and Marketing, who will participate in the selection, ongoing assessment, training and performance evaluation of this position. The position will maintain the CTSC websites, support photo/video projects, and coordinate content for brochures, fliers, newsletters, and social media adhering to the guidance and standards provided by Public Affairs and Marketing. When bandwidth allows, the incumbent may also be assigned projects to support website design/maintenance needs to support other research efforts. This position works in collaboration with UC Davis Health Public Affairs and Marketing. Work produced must be in compliance with UC Davis Health brand, graphic, editorial and Web standards.Apply By

September 5, 2024Minimum Qualifications3-5 years of professional experience in website management, digital communications or applicable communications-related work.Experience capturing, editing, and curating images/photographs (still, portrait) and videos.Experience implementing web SEO and accessibility best practices, and reporting metrics using web analytical tools such as SiteImprove, Google's Webmaster and analytics tools, etc.Experience using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.Preferred QualificationsWork experience in healthcare communicationsExperience with UC Davis Health organization, units, resources, and facilities, and principles governing research and education.Experience with the CTSC organization and website.Experience with DSLR and other video capture systems including use of professional lights and backgrounds.Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Acrobat Pro, etc.).Experience with social media, Canvas, ListManager, Qualtrics, Tableau, Trumba, Box, Open Text, MediaBin, and, TeamSite, Panopto, and RedCap.

Department OverviewThis position supports the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) which was established in 2006 through a 5-year grant by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is now entering its 18th year. The CTSC includes several distinct scientific and educational programs as well as shared resources and clinical facilities to enhance the clinical research programs at UC Davis and provide investigators with the tools to foster clinical and translational research. Under the auspices of the Associate Dean of Research, the CTSC supports investigators across the School of Medicine and the UC Davis main campus to promote translational and interdisciplinary research. As the academic home for clinical and translational research, the CTSC works with NIH and other funded CTSA awardees to expedite the translation and integration of science from a variety of disciplines into discoveries and treatments that will benefit society. The CTSC provides resources, services, and assets to accelerate and facilitate biomedical research and building research teams of the future to improve human health.Department Specific Job ScopeThe position is an essential role to help convey current, accurate, and timely information to constituents through the website, listservs, calendars, fliers, brochures, newsletters, and social media to support CTSC program activities.
