PURPOSE

To support Cornerstone Church’s mission of “Helping people know Jesus and make Him known” by conceptualizing and designing impactful visual marketing and communication assets. This role involves collaborating with the Communication team, Tech Arts, Video, and Worship departments, contributing to various projects, and providing expert advice on industry standards and best practices in graphic design while offering a creative perspective to ministry efforts.

Job Roles &Duties:

Expertise in Graphic Design: Highly skilled in graphic design theory and application, capable of conceptualizing and creating innovative design elements for various mediums, including print and digital formats, while ensuring artistic creativity aligns with the organization’s vision.

Layout and Production: Design and layout content for physical and digital publications, maintaining consistency and visual appeal across all materials. Format, edit, and produce bulletins, newsletters, and other written content weekly as needed. Demonstrates excellent typing, spelling, and proofreading abilities.

Collaboration: Work closely with Worship, Creative, and Video teams to develop impactful graphic elements for the Sunday Worship Experience and other ministry projects.

Digital Proficiency: Proficient in industry standards and best practices for social media, web, mobile, and other digital platforms.

Approval: Obtain approval for concepts and final designs from relevant staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Content Capture (as needed): Capture photos and videos of people, events, and other subjects, ensuring high-quality visual documentation.

Standards and Consistency: Assist in developing and adhering to standards for design, organization, and content, ensuring a consistent message and image across all materials.

Brand Management: Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all communication materials. Assist in developing and maintaining brand guidelines and train ministry leaders on using tools and platforms effectively.

Efficiency: Organize work effectively to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Video: Knowledgeable in best practices of video production and how to best leverage design for video projects. Experience in video production or animation is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

Must know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and possess a passion for using design to reach others.

Bachelor’s degree in communications or graphic design, or 3 years of relevant experience.

Stay up to date on industry best practices, and creatively adapt them for a church environment.

Highly experienced with project management software: OneChurch, Microsoft 365 programs (Outlook, Teams, Planner), and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) using MacOS. Knowledge of Davinci Resolve or Premiere Pro video software is preferred.

Photography skills are a plus, especially experience in capturing high-quality images for use in design projects.

Knowledgeable in current video trends and how to best leverage design for video projects. Experience in video production or animation is a plus.

Awareness of the principles of animation and how to design with animations in mind.

Knowledge of basic copyright laws and trademark regulations.
