Manager Transmission DesignLocation: Overland Park, KSDirect HirePay: $150K to $200K

Requirements:Minimum of Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Kansas preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience related to Transmission Design or related area required.Able to lead and mentor a small team of engineers in a collaborative, team environment.Knowledgeable on applicable codes and industry standards including the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), Rural Utility Service (RUS) Bulletins & applicable IEEE Standards.Proficient with various software packages including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, CAISSON, SWrate, SAG10, AutoCAD, Mathcad, and other design tools.Working knowledge with design tools including Aspen One-Liner, ETAP, Osmose O-Calc, SKM Power Tools, Milsoft WindMil/LightTable, WinIGS, & GroundMat desirable.Familiar with development of Transmission line designs using PLS-CADD/Pole, development of alignments, integration of survey and LIDAR data, development of criteria files and feature class data tables.Able to work with structural engineering team to develop appropriately designed structures andfoundations.Ability to design the appropriate structure types, sizes and configurations, working with steel pole vendors to develop “For-Construction” drawings and bid packages for various tangent, turning and dead-end structures.Analyzing for various code and client required loading criteria including the selection anddevelopment of weather cases, load and strength factors.Development of line tensions and verification of adequate clearances during maximum sag andblow-out conditions will be required.Familiarity with Overhead Conductors as well as Optical Guy-Wire (OPGW) hardware andsplicing equipment will be required.Candidate must possess a mechanical/structural aptitude with knowledge of power system design and operations to facilitate communications and interactions with the internal teams.Ability to use office administrative and collaboration software (MS Office, Teams, etc.) required.Occasional travel for site visits and client meetings will be required.
