Shalena Smith Interiors seeks an outgoing Showroom Manager/Assistant Designer (full-time) to join our team in Porter Ranch, CA. Must be experienced in sales and passionate about people & design. The ideal candidate is a motivated, self- starter, energetic, creative, and understands design aesthetics.

QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or experience equivalent (3-5yrs) (preferred)• 1+ years experience working in the residential design field preferred• Minimum of 2 years retail sales experience• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, or similar programs is required. Knowledge of Mac Applications, Design Files, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Sketchup, Google Workspace, and Canva• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation

JOB REQUIREMENTS• Ability to lift small to medium items up to 25 lbs.• Use of AutoCAD and/or SketchUp• Use of computer programs such as Canva, Google WorkSpace, Adobe, Design Files, and various Mac Applications• Use of Clover as a POS• Understanding of basic social media operations• Ability to work extended hours on occasion for project installs & showroom meetings• Ability to travel locally & out of State for design shows.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to:• Assist the Principal Designer with various design and administrative tasks related to all phases of luxury residential design from initial onboarding through project completion.• Gather detailed information, finish samples, specifications, and quotes for preparation of accurate design proposals including occasional sample and material pick-ups• Assist with product sourcing• Assist with preparing client presentations• Point of contact communications for clients and contractors• Maintain project information such as orders, quotes, and any other client- related information• Maintain inventory and restock shelves as needed• Assist in-store visual merchandising• Assist in meeting monthly sales goals through relationship-based selling• Build strong customer relationships to create a repeat sales business• Sales experience is a must since our showroom is a retail establishment. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWorking with the Principal Designer, the Assistant Designer acts as administrative and design support on all phases of high-end, residential interior design projects. This full-time position requires retail sales experience, knowledge of interior design, and a solid ability to organize information, manage time and documentation, and follow through on assignments under strict deadlines.
