Junior Designer

The Junior Designer is a member of the Design Team that assists with the architectural, interior, industrial, and/or experiential design process per the client’s wants and needs and at the direction of the VP of Design. This role will focus on generating schematic designs and presentations as well as the construction of virtual environments using a variety of programs. This position will also collaborate with team members creatively, efficiently, and with a high degree of attention to detail in order to deliver fully rendered designs per client and Leadership specifications.QUALIFICATIONSWhat makes you the ideal candidate:Bachelor’s of Architecture or Degree in industrial Design preferredMinimum professional experience of at least 2-3 years, can include an internship.2-3 years of 3D Modeling experience for fabrication.2-3 years experience in Adobe Suite.Rhino and Adobe platforms software experience requiredRendering software experience required, such as V Ray or otherGrasshopper experience preferred but not requiredAble to produce quality and organized drawings / details and 3d modelsAble to communicate clearly and professionally to internal teams, clients, and vendorsAble to concisely document communication with clients and manage their expectationsAbility to pivot into different projects that are in different stages/phasesAbility to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentExhibits professionalism, particularly when meeting or interacting with clients, vendors, or other employees.Meticulous organizational skillsFlexible time managementAble to work late nights and weekends as requiredResponsibilities:Drafting construction design documents and schematic design documents for various clients and projects; Parallel processing multiple jobs at one time, all at the direction of the VP of DesignAssist with concept and design development/strategy per client wants and needs, but also within the constraints of realistic fabrication and installationProduce renderings for various projects that are presentation qualityCollaborates with Design Engineering, Director of Fabrication and Shop Leads to generate shop drawings and case work detailsConduct background research for early development design concepts on clients, products, industry, and anything else relevant to the design requestPrepare presentation documents for both client and internal use, using google slidesAssist with material selection and product selection for client reviewSite survey for documentation of existing conditions for projectsShop drawings for shop team to have accurate dimensions to build; Being accountable for these dimensions and sizesGraphic design work for internal and external clients. All under the supervision of VP of DesignOther additional duties and functions may include:Digital Fabrication as needed, such as 3D modeling for cnc and 3D printing as well as creating scaled models / mockupsAssist in correspondence between clients when neededUtilizing the grasshopper plugin for RhinoOther duties as assigned by the VP of Design, members of the sales team, and/or the CEO and OwnerHow we'll measure success:Accuracy of workAccomplishing tasks within allotted timeCompensation:$60k-$70k, commensurate with experienceWhat we offer:Paid time off; medical/dental/vision benefits; short & long-term disability options; retirement matching after 1 year; amazing office/amenities including complimentary on-site private-use gym; free electric car charging; full working kitchen; and a dog-friendly workspace!
