Learn more at go.illinois.edu/PRIjobs.PRI is seeking to hire a Strategic Content Specialist to serve as part of the PRI Strategic Communications team, focusing on developing and implementing content strategy for websites across the institute. Collaborate with web and communications staff to support strategic priorities through creation of on-brand content strategies and copy for PRI websites. Ensure strong user experiences driven by best practices, analytics, and SEO and build and maintain relationships with subject matter experts across PRI.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a website content strategy that is on brand, focused on key audiences, and effectively supports PRI strategic priorities, working with other strategic communications team members.Provide guidance to subject matter experts in developing new content for flagship websites and microsites.Content Management:Manage non-news content on the PRI flagship website. Review and approve content edits, build new content, and make regular updates. Create and maintain a plan for refreshing content throughout the year.Conduct periodic assessments of PRI websites—including monitoring updates for timeliness and effectiveness—and make recommendations that improve content and overall user experience while supporting communication goals.Provide guidance to subject matter experts on how to most effectively use content management system(s).Content Development:Contribute to and work within the project management program used by the team for maximum organization and efficiency.Stay informed on current best practices for website communications—especially content marketing, analytics, and SEO—and make recommendations for new features and tactics based on this.Other:Perform other duties as needed to further the mission and goals of PRI, and the University of Illinois.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)B. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.Demonstrated experience writing, specifically for the web or other marketing channels.Demonstrated experience with website analytics analysis and search engine optimization (SEO).Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with managing web content through a WordPress content management system (CMS). Experience working in a higher education environment.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of best practices in writing content and producing media for the web. Knowledge of web analytics tools including Google Analytics. Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and implementing content optimizations to improve organic search. Familiarity with website accessibility standards. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Excellent written communication skills. Awareness of, and sensitivity to, cultural and linguistic differences. Commitment to diversity and inclusion. Ability to manage multiple projects at once, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment. Demonstrated research and analytical skills for evaluation and measurement of web content. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical professionals and understand technical requirements of web technologies.Environmental Demands:

The work of this position takes place in an office setting. The work is sedentary and involves remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time working at a computer, using a keyboard and mouse, and using repetitive hand motions.Appointment:

The budgeted amount for this position is $60,000 to $70,000.
