Responsible for developing strategies to increase the City’s social media presence and engagement among followers. Deep understanding of AP style writing and storytelling for city news and website content. This role requires creativity, excellent communication skills, and a passion for social media and writing engaging copy. •Oversee the City’s presence on social media.

•Develop, implement, and manage Stonecrest’s social media content in alignment with the City’s organizational goals and objectives.

•Create, curate, and manage engaging content across all social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Nextdoor.

•Consistently monitors mentions of Stonecrest on all social media platforms, and alerts leadership of conversations or topics that may be of concern.

•Foster a sense of community and build relationships with the City’s online audience.

•Monitor, analyze, and report metrics/analytics on social media content.

•Serve as point person for emergency-related social media postings during business and off hours, as needed.

•Maintain knowledge of emerging platforms and current best practices.

•Have a deep understanding of writing in AP Format.

•Write press releases, news stories, and website content.

•Create an editorial calendar which outlines when and on which platforms posts will be published on the City’s various social media channels.

•Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSFour years of experience, and a bachelor’s degree in English, communications, political science, journalism, graphic design, or a closely related field is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTSMay work an adjusted schedule for addressing system issues or assisting in events occurring after 5:00 p.m. such as meetings, or planned events.
