to join the journey here at Macs Adventure as part of the Global Marketing Team (position is located in Denver, CO).Working alongside the other talented members of the Macs Adventure Marketing team, the Social Media & Community Manager will be responsible for driving Macs’ community, advocacy and emotional loyalty through global organic social media strategy, planning and delivery, as well as community management, total follower acquisition, influencers, and US-focused events for the Macs brand. Additionally, this role will serve as the local week-to-week go-to for the US-based PR agency partner on quick-turn requests.In doing so, you’ll play an integral role in our mission by delivering emotionally appealing and brand-igniting content via organic social media and influencer storytelling, and engaging events & community activation that elevate and conveys our brand to the market.As a member of the Global Marketing Team, the Social Media & Community Manager will report to the Head of Marketing Operations, Jeff Werkheiser. This role will partner closely with our Brand Team, Performance Marketing Team, and our Go-To-Market Campaign Manager, among others, and will play a big part in the growth and success of Macs Adventure.About Macs AdventureWe’re an adventure tour operator on a mission to be the leading global brand in self-guided, active travel.Welcoming over 30,000 customers on over 600 walking and cycling trips to destinations around the world, we employ over 180 people across the UK, US and Germany who share our purpose to lead, advocate & enable self-guided, active travel as a positive force for people and planet.

We step up and help our team mates when they need us.What you’ll do;Develop and deliver the organic social media strategy, from planning and calendaring, through content development (working with Macs designers) and execution (posting & promoting) across Macs channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, Pinterest, etc.)Ongoing community management across social media channels and the Macs Adventure Facebook Community Group, monitoring comments and responding as needed; collaborating with other Macs team members for additional time zone coverage, off hours, and continuing plans for supportLead the Macs Adventure influencer program, identifying new content partners and facilitating relationships, trip coordination, budgetsDrive Macs’ social media channels and the Facebook Community Group follower targets, leading innovative acquisition campaignsAssess and measure content performance, via engagement and other relevant metrics to optimize plans, pivot direction, or expand forwardPlan and execute local US events as appropriate within the greater strategy and budget, for example – participation in relevant adventure travel or industry trade shows, community events, or gatherings of outdoor adventurersSupport US Public Relations, serving as the local on-the-ground US representative to help field quick-turn communications needsWhat you’ll bring;2-4 years' experience with hands-on execution of social media channels, Influencer programs, and community management for a consumer brandSome experience in supporting PR and Communications tasks, media requests, and external agency partnersPassion for coordinating events and energized by getting the brand out there, with excellent organizational skills from start to finishAble to multi-task, prioritize and establish deadlines to ensure competing objectives are metInterpersonal and team skills enable you to build great relationships internally and externallyComfort with receiving feedback, assuming positive intentHigh level of emotional intelligenceA highly confident, competent, and articulate individual who can communicate professionally across all levelsLearning & growth oriented – you are hungry and motivated, and see this opportunity as a Social Media & Community Manager at Macs as a great next step in your career journeyA hands-on individual willing to go the extra mile for customers, colleagues, and the businessConfident in using your initiative and communicating effectively with peers and senior management from other departmentsExcellent organizational skills allow you to work in a structured way across multiple projects and brandsPride in your craft, with an innovative attitude and the humility to serveYou have a personal passion for active and adventure travelNot essential, it would be a bonus if you;Have worked within a global team, across multiple countries and time zonesComfort with light content editing (still images or social media reels, for example) as neededExperience on the Paid Social Media side, setting up and executing ad or acquisition campaignsExperience using a project management system such as Monday.comThe knowledge and skills we’ve listed represent “the perfect candidate.” No one’s perfect and we know the ‘confidence gap’ can stop brilliant people applying.
