WFAA, TEGNA’s ABC affiliate in Dallas, TX., is seeking a highly skilled Photojournalist/Editor who can create sharable and compelling content for television, digital platforms, social media and mobile. We are recruiting a Photojournalist who can tell great stories independently or with a team.We are an award winning NPPA Photography department, and our ideal candidate is someone who wants to reach the next level of their career, invest more time in stories that matter, and create journalism that makes a difference.Knowledge of the latest photography, editing tools and techniques is essential. Our photography staff use the latest in DSLR/Cine style cameras daily in our news gathering. We are looking for a candidate ready to push the boundaries of creativity and style.Our hire must act with urgency in breaking news situations and is able to participate in live performance on air and on live streaming when necessary. We require our photography staff to be flexible in working schedules.Responsibilities:

Utilize the latest editing and photography tools and software to tell great stories.Produce original content on-air and on all digital platforms that evoke emotion and tell compelling stories.Use creative story-telling techniques (graphics, lighting, photography, etc.) to enhance stories.Be capable of covering, in a professional manner, a wide range of news topics, including breaking, general, sports, and features.Participate in daily editorial meetings by pitching strong, enterprise stories.Maintain professional broadcasting equipment in clean, working order.Safely operate news vehicles in a variety of locations and terrain, and operate live video technology.Perform other tasks as required by the Director of Photography, other News Managers, and Assignment Editors.Requirements:

BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent years of experience.3-5 years of experience preferred.Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems.A strong understanding of DSLR/cine style cameras - SonyA7, Sony FS5, Sony FX6, and Sony FS7.Experience with Edius and/or Adobe Premiere.Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots.Drone certification or strong desire to learn, a plus.Demonstrated news judgment, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills.Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines.Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekend, night and holiday shifts.Benefits:
