Hybrid (part-time working on site, part-time working off-site)Position Summary:The Director of Chancellor Communications plays a vital role in creating and implementing communications for the Chancellor, ensuring they align with overall UNMC Strategic Communications goals and those established by the Chancellor. This role requires a dynamic individual who can craft compelling executive-level messages, create impactful materials and presentations, and ensure all pieces reflect the Chancellor’s voice and vision.The Director, working closely with the Office of Strategic Communications, represents the image and interests of the Chancellor in various internal and external communications, including speeches, presentations, statements, videos, campus communications, print pieces, digital media, and social media content. The Director will partner with the Office of Strategic Communications and senior executives within the organization on a variety of strategic initiatives and collaterals to support UNMC’s mission.Job Title:

Required Education:

Communications, English, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.Required Experience:

7 years in communication, marketing, or public relations, with a significant portion of that time in a leadership role supporting executive communications.Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.Visual storyteller with exceptional art direction and design skills that translate across mediums, including print, social, and digital.Strong understanding of media relations and digital marketing strategies.Able to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.High level of motivation, creativity, strategic thinking, and ability to lead and influence others.Advanced skills in leadership, project management, content marketing strategies, and trends.Advanced abilities in leveraging contemporary digital, social, and print communication channels for effective audience impact.The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work and learning environment free from discrimination and harassment.
