The Senior Telecommunications Specialist is a key component of the Enterprise Network and Infrastructure Bureau working with a team of other Telecommunication Specialists and VoIP Engineers. This position is integral in maintaining, configuring, and upgrading the core Avaya Aura environment. In addition, coordinate and lead active deployments of Avaya Aura systems replacing legacy key systems. This position works with the Network Operations unit to configure and troubleshoot switching configuration and voice gateways at various customer sites throughout the state.What are we looking for?Education and Experience:Associates degree in Information Technology or related field and four years’ applicable experience; ORBachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field and two years’ applicable experience; ORAlternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.Competencies:Knowledge of:VoIP protocols and technologies (SIP, H.323, Analog, Digital, ISDN, TCP/IP, FTP, WAN, LAN, Etc.)Contact Center technologyVirtual Server AdministrationLinux and Windows Server & Workstation Operating systemsAvaya Aura components & interoperabilityScripting and AutomationNetwork Switching and routing conceptsProject management Principles, Practices and TechniquesAbility to:Understand call flows, troubleshoot and perform detailed analysisPerform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to VoIP systems to ensure optimal performance and securityUnderstand virtual server deployments and various operating systemsDesign or modify a VoIP or digital network within operational requirementsProblem-solve a wide variety of hardware and software issuesInstall and repair telephony hardware and associated softwareDevelop effective working relationships with vendors, co-workers, managers, employees of state government, and citizens of the stateRapidly troubleshoot and correct system problems in a timely fashionProvide excellent customer service and communication to non-technical individualsUnderstand the interrelationship of data, voice/VoIP network systems and quickly learn the State’s environmentWork efficiently under stressful circumstances as priority incidents occurDevelop, document, and follow processes and proceduresWork independently and in a team environmentManage competing deadlines with shifting prioritiesLead a team from the beginning to the successful completion of a projectDoes this sound like you?
