The School of Social Work invites applications for a Multimedia Designer to be a member of our marketing and communications team. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications. The Multimedia Designer's responsibilities cover a wide range of duties including print, video, audio, digital content, and supervision. This role will take projects from the client's idea to a fully realized production, supplying original graphic design, photography, videography, animation, illustrations and audio design all while keeping alignment with the school's mission. Additionally, this role supervises student employees and coordinates additional projects with freelancers and external vendors.Responsibilities*

Multimedia Design

Design strategic communications (print, web, multimedia) that visually and contextually communicate the School's messages.Conceptualize, design, and produce original concepts for high-end print and multimedia projects and campaigns, including view-books, digital and print magazines, reports, brochures, websites, environmental graphics, presentations, and more.Document and uplift the School's community through staff, student and faculty portraits, candid moments of student life for the website, event documentation.Familiarity with technologies required to create, produce, and edit high production video and audio assets onsite and in the community.

Project and Client Management

Work with team and partners/clients to understand overall goals for each project.Work as a team with managers, writers, web developers and vendors to provide an integrated approach to achieve specified project goals.Manage multiple projects and provide guidance to student workers and appropriate communications to freelancers and external vendors to complete projects.Communicate processes and budget updates to clients.In this role, you will serve as a knowledgeable tour guide for the School's art collection.

Contribute to the design, and continued development of the School of Social Work's digital environment.Contribute to integrated marketing campaigns that could include multiple channels of distribution including email, web pages, social media, mobile, digital advertising and others.Assess new technologies, standards, trends, and strategies for delivery of message.Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree in Design or Interactive Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with at least five years' experience.Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design and its tools, including experience of tools to create and edit video, photo, and audio.Knowledge of principles and practices of printing techniques and technologies.Ongoing commitment to improving your skills, acquiring new technical knowledge, and staying informed of creative design trends.Work Locations

Work Location - This is a hybrid position for the School of Social Work with a minimum of three days in-person, on-campus per week and one-two days remote work. The in-person work location will be in the School of Social Work building (SSWB) at 1080 S. University, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1106.IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is responsible for documenting through video and photography various events at the School. These events will sometimes include weekend or evening work hours.Modes of Work
