What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an Employment Authorization & Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA! This hybrid role offers the unique blend of working collaboratively within our Carlsbad office and the flexibility of remote work.This role provides day-to-day oversight of People & Culture Onboarding Compliance. Key responsibilities include leading US I-9 and E-Verify, global work authorizations, compliance audits, and vendor relationships. The position requires meticulous attention to detail for data accuracy, case management, and process execution. Successful candidates will partner closely with Talent Operations, People & Culture Shared Services, and global onboarding teams, as well as external partners and government agencies.

The day-to-day

Review E-Verify and I-9 Processes and make recommendations for process improvement.Perform I-9 audits and compliance checks as well as US Visa reconciliations.Project management of various compliance projects such as OFCCP, SOX, SOC codes, California Pay Data etc.Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to employment authorization.Verify the authenticity and validity of supporting documents, such as identification, work permits, visas, or other employment-related documents.Maintain accurate records of employment authorization applications, approvals, rejections, and related documentation.Stay updated with relevant employment laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to immigration and employment authorization.Connect with employees, job applicants, and internal partners to provide guidance, answer queries, and assist with the employment authorization process.Collaborate with HR, legal, and other departments to ensure a smooth and compliant employment authorization process.Prepare reports on employment authorization activities, including application status, approval rates, and potential issues or trends.Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and changes in regulations to adapt procedures and ensure compliance.

What you'll need

Requires 3+ years of directly related experience.Proficient use of Microsoft Office.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.Initiative and self-direction; works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issuesExcellent client service skills.Excellent organizational skills, prioritizing, and multi-tasking abilities.Ability to adapt to a changing environment and to approach challenges with creativity and resourcefulness, including engaging in thought provoking dialogue for solutions.Prioritizes and independently completes responsibilities.Ability to work with minimal instruction.High degree of professionalism and integrity and ability to work in a highly confidential environment.Experience in a large or matrix-driven corporation with overseas or outsourced operations.Ability to lead complex projects with virtual teams.Ability to problem-solve.Ability to think strategically and be solution-focused.

What will help you on the job

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.Experience with I-9 Service center/case management system.Familiarity with Workday and Equifax.Experience with running I-9's through an acquisition process.Experience with OFCCP audits and mandatory pay data reporting.

Salary range

$74,200.00 - $129,000.00 / annually

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
