Senior Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Primary Purpose:

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Law School Marketing and Communications at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, the Senior Marketing & Communications Coordinator will assist in enrollment marketing efforts for multiple departments at the law school, including academic programs including the JD program, LLM program, MPA program, MPP program, MSL program, and Salzburg study abroad programs.Essential Functions:Establish, coordinate, and execute social media strategy for the law school, under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Law School Marketing and Communications.Plan and manage strategies and activities to promote the law school through exposure to the media and news outlets. Serve as a media spokesperson to maximize the image and public awareness of the law school. Cultivate positive relationships with local, regional, and national media.Cultivate data-driven, high-impact, and results-oriented enrollment marketing practices to ensure annual enrollment of a high-achieving and diverse student body within the JD program, LLM program, MPA program, and MPP program.Coordinate robust email marketing campaigns to prospective students. Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of email marketing efforts using various tools and metrics, such as web analytics, email open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, etc., and provide regular reports and recommendations for improvement.Plan, implement, and assess marketing campaigns (email, print, and digital) to external audiences.Develop new initiatives that include email and/or web campaigns.Supervise student employees and temporary employees as needed; delegate tasks, approve timesheets, create work schedules, and oversee their work product.Create high-quality photo and video content to promote the law school.Create and develop graphic design materials for the law school. Conceptualize, develop, and implement graphic design in marketing campaigns and collateral as needed.Track the course of marketing initiatives, analyze, and present results. Propose corrective actions as appropriate. Update, maintain, and recommend solutions for optimizing law school communications to internal and external audiences.Initiate and facilitate collaboration between different departments on behalf of the Law School Marketing and Communications department.Maintain expertise with marketing and public relations trends and best practices.Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions regarding marketing strategies and tactics.Ensure visual and verbal consistency of materials produced by the law school.Ensure workflow is timely and efficient.Handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity, discretion, and independent judgement.Manage special projects and other related duties as assigned.University of the Pacific recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion is foundational to the success of our valued students and employees. We prioritize policy and decision-making that demonstrates awareness of, and responsiveness to, the ways socio-cultural forces related to race, gender, ability, sexuality, socio-economic status, etc. impede or propel students, faculty, and staff.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in journalism, English, marketing, communications, or relevant field.One (1) year of work experience in a similar office setting.One (1) year of experience with verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in journalism, English, marketing, communications, professional writing, or relevant field.Two (2) years of experience with organizational skills with experience at managing multiple, detail-oriented projects with tight deadlines simultaneously.Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Two (2) years of experience with AP style, journalistic writing, and news reporting for a variety of audiences.Two (2) years of experience with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and InDesign.One (1) year of experience with Canva or a similar graphic design platform.One (1) year of experience working with content management systems and email marketing applications.One (1) year of experience writing marketing copy for various forms of marketing collateral, email marketing campaigns, social media, and advertisements.One (1) year of experience with Google Analytics.One (1) year of experience shooting and editing photography and videography.Familiarity with the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and/or higher education environment.Familiarity with evaluating, hiring, and managing outside vendors and/or freelance creative resources.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative but not definitive of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work performed during standard business hours. May require occasional evening and weekend hours to complete tasks.Hiring Range:
