ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to gather information to develop creative and engaging audience appropriate training content.Conducts instructional design research and analysis to ensure most innovative learning solutions are incorporated into developed training content.Applies tested instructional design theories and methods (audios, videos, games, etc.) into the training content design to ensure learners can effectively and efficiently retain the information.Writes scripts for video and audio content and creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards.At the minimum, develops training content for the following types of trainings:On-The-Job TrainingSafety and GMP New Hire OrientationRefresher GMP TrainingProcedural Training and Retraining (Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions)Supports development of effective evaluation of learning assessments.Edits developed training content based on feedback from Technical Trainer(s) and others.Ensures licenses for instructional design software are up to date and ensures that all equipment used to develop training content is well maintained.Collaborates with subject matter experts to gather information to develop Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and forms.As needed, develops new or revises existing Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and forms.Monitors status of procedure routings and follows up to ensure they are meeting established Turn Around Time (TAT).Identifies and submits suggestions to improve efficiencies, quality, and safety.Complies with safety requirements, GMP requirements, and SOPs/WIs for work areas.SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTSupports a culture of safe production and exhibits safe work practices. Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities. Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance. Adheres to policies, procedures, SOP’s, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures.

Reports ALL workplace incidents to supervisor immediately.

Communicates concerns to supervisor, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required. Participates on safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.

Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Minimum one (1) year experience with Instruction Design Software (i.e. Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, etc.) required.Minimum one (1) year of experience developing videos and other technology enhanced training solutions.Minimum one (1) year technical writing experience required.Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) required.Experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment, preferably food or pharmaceuticals, required.Verbal and written bilingual Spanish skills preferred.Language SkillsAbility to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to speak effectively in front of groups of employees and to write training documentation.

Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to understand weights.

REASONING ABILITYGood problem solving ability with ability to develop creative solutions.

PERFORMANCE ABILITYCertified trainer and subject matter expert on various Packaging and Processing lines/equipment. Excellent team building, collaboration and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to design, write and engage, interact and teach a diverse group of employees on processes, equipment, policies and procedures in a fun and interesting manner. Must be creative in developing training materials and have excellent written skills. Leads by example on the floor in a professional manner and models NOW’s core values, tenets and servant leadership.

While Training, Employee Will Be Exposed To The Following

Works near moving mechanical parts.Works around ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, botanicals, etc. and chemicals such as alcohol, that may require respiratory protection.Exposed to vapors, airborne particles and/or herbal aromas.Exposed to all of the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g. crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans), Wheat and Soybeans, except for peanuts.Works in all areas of NOW’s manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud, and in some areas where louder hearing protection is required.May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals and biological materials.

Some travel to different company facilities may be required, including travel by plane.
