Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for a Manager of Content Consumer Insights to design, execute and socialize content-focused primary research insights across a variety of content for brands including Peacock, NBC, Bravo, E!, USA, SYFY and Oxygen.

This position will work closely with groups across the organization – including content development, production, marketing, brand strategy, and press – to represent the opinions, attitudes, preferences, and behaviors of a wide range of consumers. This individual will be a critical player within the team tasked with executing primary research and conducting robust analysis in support of the company’s vast and varied content slate. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Content and Consumer Insights, and work with stakeholders across the organization with a core area of focus on unscripted content, including docu-reality, formats, documentaries, true crime, and live events.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and conduct custom qualitative/quantitative research projects such as online surveys, focus groups, online communities, etc., focused primarily on unscripted content (including episode tests, concept/casting tests, end of season studies, talent evaluation, etc).Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of new and existing research methodologies, with a focus on collaborating to integrate these tools/systems across the broader consumer insights team.Drive innovation via a broad toolkit of methodologies and statistical techniques; conduct advanced analyses to discover the story in the data and guide strategic decisioning.Create engaging and creative data visualization solutions in order to make survey data accessible, reliable, and scalable via reporting (specifically tableau dashboards).Ideate and execute big-picture strategic projects, examining larger genres, themes, trends, and/or research frameworks to drive the long-term strategy of our content.Supervise and manage research vendors/partners, keeping track of key project details such as timing, recruitment of respondents, survey programming, and data output, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.Manage research needs for programming and development teams. Likewise, collaborate with development, production and marketing leaders to help inform audience-building strategies, and evaluate content and creative.Consult with internal partners on their various initiatives, drawing on overall knowledge of viewers and best practices gleaned through research.Integrate primary insights with other types of data, pulling together findings to create an integrated narrative, and contextualizing viewer attitudes and opinions in behavioral data.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree4+ years in market research, ideally in a content and/or media-related fieldBackground in statistical analysis and/or data visualization platforms (Tableau in particular is crucial for this role)

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
