Summary

The OpportunityHyatt seeks an enthusiastic technical architect to join our Americas Design Services group, where you’ll join a team of 13 field professionals who love what they do, traveling for site visits and providing thoughtful Property Improvement Plans and support across the Americas region. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the broader Hyatt Operations and Development teams where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. The RoleResponsibilities include oversight and creation of property improvement plans and analysis of potential conversion opportunities as part of the Americas Design Services department. Additional responsibilities include supporting pre-opening activities and producing construction inspection reports on new projects, all with support and guidance from senior team members.

Visit hotel sites of existing Hyatt brands and other properties considered for conversion and prepare Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) detailing conversion needs and timelines, focusing on quality, brand standards, aesthetics, and compliance with basic engineering and life safety standards.Interface with owners and their consultants to provide design direction and oversee Hyatt’s interests in the execution of PIP scope for various projects.Partner with the region’s development team to provide additional project assessment and feasibility activities including pre-design desktop review and evaluation of area programs.Demonstrate familiarity with key building Fire & Life Safety systems and components (including architectural, egress, fire alarm & detection, fire protection, etc.) and general knowledge of common related building codes and standards.Provide observations based on familiarity with common MEP, Lighting, AV, and Security systems including identification of basic components and their visual condition and key features.Assist with pre-opening support of new build and conversion projects within the region including handover from Design Directors, construction progress tracking and site visits, coordination with Operations, and monitoring of timelines.Opportunities to participate in Hyatt’s Diversity & Inclusion activities.

QualificationsExperience Required:5 years of post-graduate experience in an Architectural or Engineering field.Bachelor or Master of Architecture or Engineering or foreign equivalent.Technical construction knowledge.Experience Preferred:Spanish language proficiency.Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu.The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all-encompassing.
