Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. seeks a Senior Design Professional in St. Louis, MO.Duties:

Under the direction of a licensed Architect, assist in predesign/planning and all design phases of multistory mixed use, retail, entertainment, hospitality, healthcare, and aviation, including new construction and renovation, tenant improvement, and parking garages. Responsibilities include:Produce site analysis studies with site photography, building code research, base drawings, and diagrams using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.Prepare and incorporate weather data analysis using Climate Consultant to identify passive design potential based on the local climate and building use.Develop design documents for all design phases, schematic design through construction documents.Produce virtual design simulations to integrate collaborative workflow from project team and to identify design conflicts using Lumion and Enscape.Conduct material and product research for building façade, exteriors and interiors, and landscape elements.Design exterior envelope and interior finishing requiring enlarged plans, elevations, sections, details, and axonometric drawings.Analyze sketches, photos, standards, cut sheets, and other input material to determine best approaches for completion of comprehensive details and sections.Work with sustainable design leadership to maintain and improve the quality and consistency of design environment and deliverables.Incorporate LEED sustainable design principles and strategies into projects.Coordinate conceptual design drawings with various consultants to produce construction documentation.Participate in quality assurance/quality control review sessions at project milestones.Assist in managing project consultant agreements and project budgets.Apply architectural principles to review all related shop drawings, samples, mockups, and cut sheets on materials and equipment.Required Skills:

Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:Experience using SD/DD/CD phases of large scale projects.Collaborating on concept alternative studies.Translating design intent into technical documents.Incorporating custom detailing, structural engineering principles, and building systems into architectural designs.Creating design presentations using various software tools including SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lumion, and Enscape.Required Experience:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or a related field (or its foreign equivalent) and 3 years of experience in Architecture or related occupations.40 hours/week. Must also have authority to work permanently in the U.S. Applicants who are interested in this position may apply
