The Marketing Manager contributes to the successful execution of connected retail marketing campaigns and customer experiences and is responsible for the successful organization and management of projects and programs that support them. This individual supports business critical initiatives that deliver best in class experiences helping customers explore, engage, and ultimately shop with Mattress Firm, both online and in stores. The Marketing Manager collaborates with a broad group of cross-functional omnichannel partners with projects along all touchpoints in the customer journey.Essential Responsibilities

Coordinate closely with key team members to manage day-to-day marketing projects and keep projects on track.Proactively and strategically identify issues and project risks and recommend implementation of solutions while navigating inevitable project challenges with creativity and resilience.Provide progress updates on existing projects as they roll out.Create post-project assessments as needed to determine key outcomes and lessons learned.Coordinate with vendors, agencies and other third parties as required.Stay up to date with the latest trends in retail marketing, customer experience and project management best practices, incorporating them into programs and processes when appropriate.Take initiative to schedule and meet with project stakeholders regularly, including executive and department leaders, to fully understand project dependencies, align teams and keep projects on timely course of action.Organize, lead, document and task action items during project kick-offs, weekly team meetings and departmental calls.Seek opportunities to learn from peers, share professional knowledge, and contribute to opportunities for improvement in process and practice.Draft compelling presentations of project information, progress reporting and results.Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressively discipline and terminations when appropriate per Company policy.Non-Essential Responsibilities

Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.Education

Bachelor's Degree in a related field or commensurate experience preferred.Professional Experience

3+ Years Experience in a project management role, preferably for a retailer with both brick-and-mortar and ecommerce operations required.Experience with user segmentation and personalization preferred.Skills List

Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with an attention to detail and quality.A strong communicator with a growth- and team-oriented mindset who can work closely with various teams where effective communication is crucial to project success.Proven ability to work in a marketing team within a cross-functional environment including customer experience, merchandising and product management.Ability to learn quickly and work autonomously to independently drive projects/initiatives, and willingness to navigate change and ambiguity.Adaptable to shifting organizational priorities by taking ownership of new duties and regularly owning a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset.Ability to work effectively with creative services team members, copywriters, and designers, and to provide constructive feedback for creative deliverables, when appropriate.Knowledge

A basic understanding of marketing workflows, ecommerce, and website operations.Familiarity with video, photo, and audio production a plus.Proficiency in project management tools and a demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new tools.Familiarity with Adobe Workfront and Airtable is preferred, but not required.Physical Demands
