Working in collaboration with internal departments and senior leadership, the Marketing Specialist contributes to the continued leadership and growth of MHVillage in the online advertising space and supports the needs of the marketing team as well as both internal and external clients. Under the direction of the Creative Director and Vice President–Marketing, you will work hands-on with several projects at a time and will be involved in assisting with industry events, paid search initiatives, traffic generation, conversion optimization, e-mail marketing and social media campaigns, and other marketing projects as directed.The Marketing Specialist should have exceptional attention to detail, be pro-active, have a strong work ethic, good customer experience / people skills in line with our company’s core values, the ability to multi-task under ever-changing deadlines, and proven event management skills.Primary Responsibilities Include

Responsibilities and essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:Assists with the coordination of the organization’s promotional presence at industry events including display management, shipping, promotional item inventory management, staff registrations, travel arrangements, event management, sponsorships and marketing collateral. This function also involves attending industry events and conferences to unpack, assemble, disassemble, pack and ship the organization’s trade show displays (moving around large event venues, lifting and moving items weighing up to 75 lbs), and works the organization’s booth to understand the needs of customers and prospects, and identify market opportunities.Works with marketing and development team members to help create and manage landing pages, e-mail campaigns and lead generation programs.Assists with analyzing consumer behavior and site analytics across the MHVillage network to help identify trends, insights and opportunities.Helps with the day-to-day management of paid advertising campaigns on Google, Bing, Facebook, the MHVillage advertising network and other digital channels, including A/B split testing to optimize landing pages, conversions, customer journey and lead generation.Assists with social media marketing, website maintenance, and other digital marketing activities as directed.Research and coordinates marketing vendors including pricing, suppliers, and production times for various marketing projects as needed.Maintains and prepares lists for direct mail and online advertising or e-mail campaigns.Offers input at marketing meetings and shares ideas and analytics-based insights.Communicates with senior team members to receive feedback.Miscellaneous responsibilities as requested by executive management and required by the business needs of the organization.Successful candidates will produce work to the highest standards and are passionate about marketing, copywriting, social media, advertising and evolving technology. Communication is a big part of the job, so the Marketing Specialist must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire creative process. Keeping a finger on the pulse of current and competitive trends and going above and beyond is also necessary to be successful in this role.Required Qualifications

Passionate about trade shows, event management, and the digital marketing field.Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and best practices.Minimum 1-2 years of marketing experience, or equivalent combination of experience/education.Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Apps, and e-mail marketing platforms like Klaviyo, MailChimp, etc.Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with Google Analytics or other comparable analytics tools.Proficiency in social media management platforms like Hootsuite, AgoraPulse, etc.Familiarity with Google, Bing, Facebook and other paid advertising channels and management tools.Familiarity with landing page and content management platforms such as Unbounce, ClickFunnels and WordPress.Some direct-response copywriting, design, and content creation capabilities.Desire to continually learn and innovate.Efficient, organized and able to work as a team and independently.The ability to see projects through from inception, production, and completion.Proactive, self-starter capable of working independently to launch and advance projects, obtain required information, and meet project deadlines with a high degree of professionalism, quality assurance and attention-to-detail.Ability to travel to the corporate office and industry conferences or events a few times annually for periods of 3-5 days per trip; the ability to lift and move 75 lbs; and the ability to move about event venues, assemble trade show displays, work the organization’s trade show booth for extended periods of time, and interact with current and prospective customers to identify market opportunities are essential functions required of this role.From time to time, the Marketing Specialist may need to work hours that aren’t typical, so a flexible approach is needed to be a good fit for this position.This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Grand Rapids, Michigan with some travel required. Only candidates who reside within a 45-minute commute from Grand Rapids, Michigan will be considered for this role.Compensation And Benefits
