Discovery Education is in search of a Product Designer to join our Doodle Learning team with experience designing products from end to end. Your expertise in designing elegant user experiences for our Direct-to-Consumer products will be pivotal for success. Collaborating directly with research, product management, operations, marketing, and engineering, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of unique, intuitive, and effective experiences for students and parents.

In this role, you will have the ability to drive innovation and success by partnering with our individual working teams through every step of the product development process — from defining overall strategy and concepting new features and functionality to conducting usability testing to inform iterative product improvements.

About the Role

Clearly define and solve problems, understand business goals, and explore innovative design solutions with an emphasis on customer acquisition/retention as well as user engagement.Collaborate cross-functionally with curriculum, research, and product management, operations and engineering to deliver elegant end-to-end user experiences.Play a crucial role in driving the vision of the product by leading design sprints or workshops to explore and develop a stronger understanding of the problem space and user needs.Design high-quality wireframes, mockups, user journeys, and interactive prototypes.Partner with the research team to develop initial testing protocols for usability studies, and provide design recommendations based on testing insights.Collaborate with product management to define success metrics, measure outcomes, and make recommendations based on data.Utilize consistent design patterns to guide the look, feel, and functionality across direct-to-consumer learning products; contributing to design systems and patterns as needed.Understand and be able to design with accessibility guidelines/principles in mind.Ability to create responsive designs that are comfortably sized to different viewports without sacrificing the quality of the experience.Requirements

Minimum 3 years of product experience in an agile development environment.Developed elegant user experiences with a strong portfolio showcasing the end-to-end design process on multiple projects.Appreciate the challenge of turning complex concepts into simple experiences.Highly proficient in Figma, specializing in creating interaction diagrams, UI designs, data visualization components, interactive prototypes, and micro-animations.Possess a solid design approach that encompasses all the core components of product development: strategy, research, feature validation, info architecture, wireframing, visual/UI design, prototyping, and usability testing.Understand various product development methodologies (JTBD, Double-Diamond, etc.) and know how and when to integrate them into the design process.Driven self-starter and collaborative design professional, adept at working with cross-disciplinary team members to achieve the best solution.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate solutions within the data visualization and reporting space.Prior experience designing in the ed-tech space is a strong plus.Team player with a positive outlook and an entrepreneurial spirit.Legal right to work in the United States.Benefits
