Technology & Telecommunications (T&T) sector group ,

Privacy & Cybersecurity (PaC) , and

Communications, Internet, and Media (CIM) regulatory practices.

This role is integral in supporting our offerings in the U.S. and globally to ensure we:maintain a structured approach to thought leadership, pitching, profile raising, client development and targeting, knowledge development, and marketing campaigns;maximize our opportunities to grow our revenues from existing and prospective clients across relevant practices, regions and sectors;raise the firm’s profile and position within our key markets; andleverage and coordinate our people, knowledge and resources in an effective and efficient manner.Job DescriptionPlanning & strategy developmentDeliver market research, client analysis and internal intelligence to support the business planning process for our T&T focused offerings.Support the implementation of the business plans, ensuring the practice and sector leadership teams and relevant working groups are meeting regularly to deliver on the plans.Manage BD budgets in alignment with the business plan, including reviewing monthly spend report line items and supporting relevant approval guidelines and firm policies.Monitor financial performance of the T&T clients and regulatory practices.Pitching & business developmentCultivate a deep understanding of the areas of expertise and client needs across the T&T sector and regulatory practices.Create and maintain a suite of standard targeting materials, including credential documents and experience database.Play leadership role on technology focused opportunities; collaborate with other M&BD colleagues as required.Oversee and analyze pitch data and performance for the firmwide pitch systems; monitor success rates and make recommendations for improvements.Conduct post pitch feedback where appropriate.Meet regularly with the lawyers in order to support their business objectives.Profile raising and marketing campaignsIdentify profile raising opportunities for key stakeholders within the T&T sector and regulatory practices.Plan and manage the implementation of client programs and events.Evaluate and manage relevant industry memberships and sponsorships.Draft and support the submission process for relevant legal directories and awards.Wider marketing and business development projectsContribute to wider marketing and BD projects as required.All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Global Citizenship program.Qualifications5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a legal or professional / business services sector.Bachelor’s degree required. BS or BA degree in marketing, communications or related field is preferred.Strong preference will be given to candidates with:Prior knowledge and experience of working with clients within the T&T sector would be advantageous.A general understanding of the commercial world and its drivers.An understanding of marketing and business development processes.Experience working with international organizations or other multinational law firms or corporations.Ability to independently execute campaigns and other assigned projects.Ability to create a positive impact with colleagues, peers, partners, and clients and to demonstrate diplomacy, listening, and influencing skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to write in a compelling way.Effective organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan ahead and prioritize conflicting demands to meet deadlines.Initiative and a “can do attitude.”Ability to work effectively under pressure.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).HOURSCore hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including lunch hour, with flexibility to work outside normal business hours as needed.This job description sets forth the authorities and responsibilities of this position and may be changed from time to time as shall be determined.Hogan Lovells is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
