The State Journal-Register, the Illinois capital city's No. 1 news source, is seeking a Sports Editor to lead its sports staff and connect more readers to its online and print sports sections.Responsibilities:
Direct coverage strategies and edit copy.Help reporters tell compelling stories in formats that resonate on all digital platforms and in the newspaper.Coordinate schedules and assignments for full-time and part-time sportswriters.Work closely with photo staff to obtain great visuals.Guide and direct trend stories and projects.Cover events during busy seasons, such as high school football and basketball, and write a column as needed.Utilize social media and digital tools to enhance coverage and storytelling.Qualifications:
