New Jersey City University, located in Jersey City, New Jersey, seeks an adjunct Musical Theatre accompanist/coach for its 2024-2025 academic year.Our MT Coaches work with our Musical Theatre students on repertoire assigned by their voice teachers for presentation throughout the semester. Each coach is responsible for 5-8 students and will offer them each 7-8 sessions (@30 minutes) throughout the semester. The coaches also accompany the Musical Theatre Workshop (MTW), one class per week (either Monday or Wednesday, 4:00-6:00). This course involves masterclass settings, as well as group and solo performance. Total weekly commitment averages 5-8 hours per week.The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Music or related Performing Arts and have significant teaching and performance experience. They would be adept at sight reading, with a good working knowledge of past and current Musical Theatre repertoire.Current Adjunct pay is $1975/credit and $40/hr for coaching. While the amount of work is unique for each individual, most Musical Theatre Coaches receive 1-3 credits and 40-50 hours.If you are interested, please submit a cover letter, resume, and 2 references to Marc G.
