Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Public Relations to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic public relations campaigns that promote Yellow Flag Productions, as well as our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of the media landscape, a keen sense of style and presentation, and a talent for crafting compelling messages that resonate with our target audience.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders in a university setting to identify key messages and messaging platforms.

Conduct research to stay up-to-date on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities.

Write and edit press releases, media kits, and other PR materials that showcase the organization's achievements and initiatives.

Manage and maintain relationships with local, national, and international media outlets, as well as other key stakeholders.

Utilize social media management tools to create and curate engaging content that promotes the organization's brand.

Develop and maintain a crisis communications plan to address any negative publicity or reputational issues.

Assist in the planning and execution of special events, press conferences, and other public relations initiatives.

Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of public relations campaigns and make adjustments as needed.

Ensure all public relations activities are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.

Proven experience in public relations, including media relations, social media management, and research.

Strong understanding of the principles of public relations, including the development of key messages, messaging platforms, and crisis communications.

Experience with writing and editing press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and present them effectively.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and building strong relationships.

Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

5+ years required in B2B, university, or governmental environment.

Preferred:

Experience with social media management tools and platforms in a higher learning environment (college or university).

Certification in public relations, such as APR.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
