LMI is seeking a skilled Communication Specialist at our client facility in Washington, DC.

$60,000 - $90,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.Responsibilities

Support the development, execution, and assessment, including analysis of audience impact, of communication plans, written deliverables, and campaigns aligned with program, Department, and White House broader strategies.Support the formation of goals, objectives, plans and strategies for communicating HHS program's objectives and mission to a variety of internal and external audiences.Plan, develop, and implement media programs for program leaders to advance greater understanding and support for the mission.Advise program leadership at various levels on public affairs matters.Support the development and maintenance of relationships with local and regional media representatives to foment media placement and positive coverage in support of program priorities and missions.Support the maintenance of relationships across organizations with shared equity through leveraging influencer-focused programs by sharing key messages and advancing the program's outreach footprint.Track, maintain, and provide recommendations for contact lists of local, regional, and national media representatives to assist with story dissemination.Track and analyze media coverage in state, local, regional, and national media sources and provide daily media analysis to keep program team informed of mission coverage.Support the coordination of local press conferences, statements, and press releases with the appropriate partners to support newsworthy events, major announcements, etc.Develop talking points, speeches, presentation materials, print, radio, and broadcast news stories, OpEds, etc. to help tell the program's story.Facilitate media training and post-interview feedback.Evaluate and develop social listening reports from a variety of sources and provide feedback to program team on public affairs trends and stakeholder attitudes to assess program effectiveness and make improvements.Develop strategic plans to publicize events and target appropriate audiences.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in communications or related fields.Experience with public affairs, public health and/or medical outreach campaigns.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.Working knowledge of remote/virtual meeting environments such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx.Strong organizational skills (e.g. time management, communication, setting goals, delegation, working under pressure, self-motivation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail).Ability to adhere to writing style guides such as the style guide as preferred and be able to draft written deliverables with minimal required editing.Strong proficiency in written and oral communications and be able to clearly convey complex information through email and presentations.Proficiency in and knowledge of health communication principles and best practices.Knowledge of health care, health systems, and health care advocacy groups.Knowledge of tracking key search terms in national and local media sources and analyzing relative content.Knowledge of developing and executing communications plans.Knowledge of social and traditional media sources and knowledge of how to track influence, impact, and hits/clicks/likes, and interaction with posts and stories.LMI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
