Our WASC-accredited curriculum is designed to promote social-emotional learning through physical well-being and a range of enrichment activities.THE ROLEThe Manager of Curriculum Design for Primary & STEAM reports to the Director of Curriculum and collaborates with the Manager of Curriculum for Secondary Education and Sports. This role is vital in designing and overseeing the development and implementation of our comprehensive curriculum that integrates developmentally appropriate content and social-emotional learning (SEL) for students from early childhood through elementary school.This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational experiences of young learners, ensuring they receive a well-rounded and inclusive education that prepares them for future success.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management of Program Specialists: Supervise and support the work of a team of specialists in designing their goals and ensuring the efficacy of their creative work and innovation.Oversight of Curriculum Design: Develop and implement an integrated vision of holistic scope and sequence that aligns with California-based standards.Integrated Social-Emotional Learning: Ensure that evidence-based SEL practices are integrated into the broader offering of student-facing content and coach training.Culturally Relevant Content: Ensure the content reflects the interests and needs of students across the country, including a diverse range of developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive educational content.Inclusive Education: Ensure the curriculum fosters inclusivity and encourages participation from students with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and skill levels.Professional Development: Design and deliver effective training and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.Collaboration: Work closely with team members and stakeholders to effectively disseminate and integrate curriculum materials and best practices.Long-term Planning: Collaborate with company leadership to develop long-term goals and forecasting based on current educational trends.Evaluation: Monitor curriculum effectiveness through data collection and evaluation methods, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.Expert Consultation: Serve as the company's expert in matters of curriculum design and early childhood education.Position Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in education, early childhood development, psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Minimum of 5+ years of experience in curriculum development and training, particularly in early childhood and elementary education.2+ years of experience in managing a team and overseeing program implementation.In-depth knowledge of California-based standards and SEL principles.Familiarity with child development principles and experience in integrating these into curriculum design.Experience designing and implementing training for adults in educational settings.Strong leadership and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in education.Ability to motivate and inspire a team.About You:Passion for early childhood and elementary education.Excellent long-term planning skills and attention to detail.Enthusiastic about personal growth, SEL, and child well-being.Confident communicator in virtual and in-person settings.Entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity for mentorship and training.Excellent time management skills.Thorough understanding of the organization’s goals and mission.Energetic, hardworking, and passionate about supporting others.This position's target annual base pay range is $75,000 - $95,000. Final pay determinations may depend on various factors including experience level, education, geographical location, knowledge, and skills.
