The RoleGovExec Events is seeking a driven, innovative, and service-oriented Senior Associate, Event Content Writer based in the DMV area to join our vibrant Events team. This pivotal role significantly impacts the growth and success of our diverse events and programs, serving the greater public sector community. As a Content Writer, you will have the unique opportunity to shape event narratives, build relationships with external stakeholders in the public sector market, enhance audience engagement, and advance your career within a respected organization. You will collaborate with clients to create tailored event programs, work with internal teams, and stay informed on industry trends. This role reports to the Director of Content.Baseline responsibilities include:Consult with editorial teams and clients to develop written summaries, event overviews, and agendas that translate journalism in an engaging manner for target audiences.Work in tandem with editorial team members and clients to turn new ideas into reality.Identify target speakers for panels, keynote interviews and presentations across a variety of topics in the public sector.Conduct speaker outreach and coordinate with public affairs offices to secure government leader participation for a variety of events independently and part of larger event project teams.Support pre-event moderator and speaker prep via research and question development.Manage onsite event program flow and speaker logisticsKeep a pulse on the news cycle, event trends and workings of the public sector to best align GovExec content.Additional responsibilities are:Work in tandem with members of the sales team to relay event priorities/content direction and build new business opportunities.Consult with editorial team leaders to facilitate smooth event execution and set priorities and goals.Work with the Director of Event Content to set priorities across the content team.Manage additional projects related to content team growth and speaker outreach strategy.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Political Science, or a related field.1-2 years of professional writing experience, preferably in the events or related industry.Knowledge of federal, defense, and state/local government sectors is a plus.Strong proofreading and editing abilities.Ability to manage complex and fast-changing program elements and prioritize effectively in response.Ability to forge strong relationships with external speaker teams.Experience working with clients to develop customized content and programming.Entrepreneurial spirit, track record of initiative, high-quality service delivery, and ownership of work.Persuasive communication skills and self-possession in presentation.Strong attention to detail in all areas of event executionAbout GovExec:GovExec's data and insights set the standard for depth, accuracy, and impact for government leaders and contractors.
