ASCO is looking for a talented and high-performing Social Media Manager to join our Integrated Communications & Marketing Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing ASCO's social media presence and strategy in support of key brand pillars and priorities through community engagement, influencer relations, and content development to further the organization's reputation as a leader in the global oncology community.

Remote candidates welcome with a preference for a candidate residing in EST, or primary location in Alexandria, VA.ResponsibilitiesManage strategy, operations, and community engagement for ASCO's social media accounts and accounts for ASCO's portfolio of scientific journals, including channel management.Develop social media plans and recommendations to meet marketing campaign goals and objectives.Evolve ASCO's social media content strategy, including developing and testing new content types.Cultivate influencer relationships through content collaborations, ASCO's Featured Voices program, and Social Media Working Group.Propose and launch new social media tactics and channels that suit ASCO objectives and drive growth.Manage ASCO social analytics and insights, including campaign and channel-level reporting.Collaborate with the Enterprise Communications team on issues monitoring and response.Support ASCO social listening activities.Participate in social media training for leadership and volunteers.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field or equivalent years of experience.4-5 years of digital marketing experience, including social media, across non-profits and digital marketing industries.Strong experience with social media management platforms, social listening software, and analytics reporting.Demonstrated versatility in writing styles, including social media posts and marketing copy.Experience translating complex themes and topics into digestible social media content.Experience with organic and paid social media.Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as needed.Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience in healthcare, life sciences, or biotechnology.CompetenciesAbility to produce high-quality deliverables throughout the project cycle from planning, management, implementation, to troubleshooting.Proven relationship-building skills; ability to interact with executive staff and physician volunteers.Excellent communication skills, including written, and the ability to draft, edit, and proofread.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.Self-managed with proven skills to use initiative and be proactive to deliver results.Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task.ADA/Physical RequirementsExtended periods seated or standing at a desk.High use of computer and other office technology equipment.Travel7-10 days annually.Generous Benefits Package:Hybrid Work Environment.Open Leave Policy.Paid Family Leave.13 Paid Holidays per Calendar Year.Staff Appreciation Days.401(k):
