Associate Creative Apparel Designer uses design skills to create Market Right Product. This position will work with design leadership and partner teams to ensure design feasibility to meet price points and merchandising needs in accordance with the Timing & Action Calendar deadlines. Initial work will be supporting a more senior designer. Once gaining competence, this position is assigned to a particular Brand and will often specialize in a gender with a few product categories. The ability to present design ideas is critical. This position is exposed to and works on all aspects of design - color, fabric, silhouette, trim, fit, construction, & marketing and will learn how to be a good partner to multiple teams (Technical Design, Brand, Sourcing, QA, Country Managers, and Graphics).If aligned to a Brand HQ (i.e., UA, Champion, etc.), the Brand history, the current design ethos, and how to translate that ethos into product for our markets will be learned!This opportunity involves an understanding of current trends through research and exposure to both consumers and customers. In addition, participation in activities will increase understanding and working knowledge of the market is obligatory. Responsibilities begin at concept, carry through to material/trim sourcing and approval, claim validation, and into creating accurate production BOMs with guidance from experienced designers.This position is located in Lenexa, KS.Responsibilities:

Ability to apply & perform design skills such as drawing/sketching, color concepts, use of fabric & trim, as well as visual presentation & layout.Willingness to understand the needs of our niche markets and to create market appropriate product designs within accordance the Timing & Action Calendar. Able to identify trends and translate into market right products at key price points.Adherence to the Timing & Action Calendars of multiple businesses that run parallel to each other.Ability to build accurate BOMs:

Distill sketch/color ups and materials into an organized BOM.Provide info for placement of fabrics and trims, designate specialty issues like "Washes", "Raw Edge", etc.Understand functionality of coding and maintain its integrity.Track & communicate expectations on sampling.

Responsible to provide "customer service" as needed to the Teams we interface with on a daily basis: HQ's, Brand Management / Sourcing / Creative Design / Country Manager, Graphics, QA, IDG, etc.Ability to conduct oneself in accordance to HBI Values, as well as to show accuracy & competence in one's daily workload.Ability to be a positive influence on the lab combined with the ability to support and execute for the team.Qualifications:
