Position SummaryThe Office of Communications at Covenant Theological Seminary is seeking applications for the role of Visual Media Producer. This position will be the lead creator, producer, and editor of visual media content—including but not limited to video, motion graphics, photography, and some graphic design—for the Seminary. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the producer spearheads all visual media production, development, and design for external and internal communications needs.As part of the communications and marketing team, the producer will work closely with the advancement and enrollment teams to create compelling visual media for institutional development and student recruitment strategies. The salary for the Visual Media Producer is commensurate with experience.Position ResponsibilitiesFunction as the primary in-house videographer and/or photographer for a wide range of Seminary events, both on and off campus.Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Marketing to conceptualize, storyboard, and shoot videos and photos.Compile and edit video footage into compelling pieces that meet industry standards and effectively communicate the Covenant Seminary story, ethos, and brand.Compile and edit photos to comply with Covenant’s brand as well as industry standards for photography.Collaborate across teams and departments to brainstorm and create content for Seminary announcements, student recruitment, institutional development and fundraising, and more.Help to build and manage a library of high-quality visual content for use across multiple channels, including the Seminary website, social media platforms, digital advertisements, magazines and other print projects, and more.Help to procure and collaborate with partners and contractors to assist in media production when necessary.Manage and assist in all aspects of visual media post-production, including editing, motion graphics, and some graphic design.Provide A/V support as needed across the Seminary.Assist in managing departmental budget details related to equipment such as cameras, lenses, microphones, and other essential items.Periodically evaluate equipment needs, purchase new equipment, and liquidate equipment that is outdated, redundant, or of no future use.Contribute to the development of visual media brand standards and best practices for the Seminary.Position Qualifications:

Minimum QualificationsPersonal:A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a modest understanding of Reformed and Presbyterian theology.Passionate about Covenant Theological Seminary: its people, values, and mission.Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Clear and warm communicator in professional and personal situations.Highly dependable and adaptable; works well independently and with others.Innovative, entrepreneurial, and creative; capable of taking the lead on projects while considering and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.Education and Experience:A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted.2-5 years of experience producing high-quality visual media content in a full-time, agency, or freelance setting. Experience working with educational and/or faith-based organizations is preferred.Strong computer skills and extensive experience with at least one editing platform. Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) is preferred, but not required.Experience using DSLR cameras and other audiovisual equipment.Ability to present examples of previous work in a digital portfolio prior to an interview is strongly preferred.Physical*:Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to lift at least 35 lbs and walk reasonable distances while carrying equipment.Position may be required to travel up to several days at a time and work evening and weekend assignments as needed.Preferred QualificationsA seminary degree or graduate degree in theology and/or biblical studies is desirable.
