We celebrate and nurture our inclusive culture through our employee resource groups.Position OverviewWe are looking for a passionate, skilled, and creative problem solver to join the team as a Sr. Product Designer for Oportun, working to accelerate growth across our neobanking products. You will design how our members interact with their finances, helping them create a path to financial health, and improve their financial lives.RESPONSIBILITIESApply design thinking principles to rapidly create and validate design concepts that ladder into business goals and objectives.Partner with product managers and UX researchers to identify and define problems, and concepts through ideas, and create thoughtful, targeted solutions.Craft engaging digital experiences for our members, supporting a native app and responsive web app projects from discovery through delivery.Work autonomously with your product team, navigating through ambiguous problem spaces in pursuit of clarity and concrete outcomes.Partner with design strategy to understand member needs and design products that exceed their expectations.Contribute to and grow our design system, utilizing our libraries to ensure product consistency.Share flows, designs, and prototypes with our cross-functional partners during product reviews.REQUIREMENTSDemonstrated experience as a product designer creating iOS/Android and web applications5 years experience or more preferredStrong sense of accountability and ownership of projectsAbility to solve complex problems with easeAn advocate for customers and their needsExperience collaborating with product managers and engineersStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, to influence thinking and decision makingUses storytelling to communicate in an engaging wayOpen to feedback, able to anticipate and address it proactivelyGives feedback in a way people can understand and act onAbility to co-create team roadmap, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressureAbility to incorporate data in decision making to validate business solutionsExcellent visual design skills and attention to detailWillingness to improve and expand your skill setBonus points: Experience creating design solutions within the financial technology spaceThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $89,900 - $143,800. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects a national minimum and maximum range for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
