The Assistant Director of Graphic Design is responsible for supporting SMU Athletics marketing, communications, and creative content. This position is responsible for developing, overseeing, and maintaining all design projects for SMU Athletics resulting in an integrated strategy to advance the SMU Athletics brand. The position collaborates with other external departments to develop and manage the strategy and production of all graphic assets for athletic digital use on all platforms and within key athletic venues.Essential Functions:Assist with all media content efforts for assigned sports.Lead all social media ideation and strategy and actively create and develop content for the social channels of assigned sports.Lead all copy-writing efforts for team social accounts as well as assist with coaches’ and players’ social accounts.Lead manager of all team social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), including photography and video content production.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of one year of work experience in graphic design is required, preferably in a college athletics department.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. A strong customer service orientation is essential. Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Strong project management skills and a focus on attention to detail are essential.Physical and Environmental Demands:Sit for long periods of time.Deadline to Apply:August 21, 2024.
