Job Description

The VP, Consolidation, Reporting, Net Distribution Accounting – Studio Group HQ will lead the consolidation and reporting for the Studio Group Segment of NBCUniversal. The role will also drive controllership strategic initiatives across these groups in alignment with the objectives set forth by the CFO and Controller, while also focusing on the development of the related Controllership teams.Responsibilities

Lead by example fulfilling NBCU Core Values: Integrity (do the right thing and treat people right), Creativity (the environment and resources to dream new dreams), Teamwork (we are smarter and more dynamic together), Pioneering Spirit (the drive to invent the future) and Ownership (act like an owner not a renter)Build, maintain and enhance a strong Controllership group providing world class consolidation, reporting, technical and general accounting services throughout the Studio Group – ensure high quality results through establishing and maintaining a system of effective and efficient internal controlsOverall responsibility for the Studio Group Segment monthly and quarterly close processes and subsequent financial reporting to NBCU Corporate; includes coordination across all global business units and divisions of the Studio Group including domestic and international theatrical, global home entertainment, domestic and international film and television studios, live theatre, and global licensing distributionWork closely with Studio Group HQ Financial Planning & Analysis team during the close process, aligning timelines and reporting objectivesOverall leadership of additional areas including net distribution accounting, intercompany, and other HQ transactional and controllership administrationProactively identify and implement solutions that mitigate risk areas, driving distributed controllership throughout the Studio Group through pre-close activities, balance sheet reviews, account reconciliations, key metric analysis and regular controllership communication and all related deliverablesMaintain a strong and appropriately collaborative working relationship with business unit Controllers and CFOs, NBCU Corporate Controllership teams including Global Finance Operations (GFO) shared services, and cross-functional (in finance and across other functions) business and Corporate partners ensuring business and controllership operational, strategic and team objectives are clearly defined, communicated, prioritized, and deliveredDevelop Director and Manager level direct line staff through leading by example with a strong work ethic and providing meaningful goals and objectives as well as thoughtful and timely feedback on performance levels; help talent consider, plan and implement long-term careers at NBCUDrive policy, process and internal control improvement, simplification and standardization via globalization of current processes, procedures, and technologies; included in this contribute self and team to initiatives relating to technology innovation including the enterprise-wide SAP S/4 implementationKey participant in maintaining relationships with the Internal and External audit teams, assuring the timeliness and accuracy of required deliverablesQualifications

Basic Requirements

12+ years of experienceBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field such as economics); Qualified Accountant (CPA or equivalent preferred)Experience in managing teams in a Global Environment with prior experience in Global consolidation processes (ideally US GAAP)Technical accounting skills, including the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and policies to business transactionsInternal controls and accounting process and systems experience, including maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley control environmentDesired Characteristics
