Assistant Director, Communications & Administration Loop Campus (Hybrid) Job Description

The Highlights:Responsible for program management within the First-Year Academic Success (FYAS) program. Develops strategic communication campaigns to students (via Slate, Sharepoint, publications, and BlueStar), uses data to make recommendations for program improvement, and provides information to students and family members interested in the program. Manages and trains student employees to answer questions and provide excellent customer service to FYAS participants and their families for the success of the program. Processes budget and payroll requests for FYAS and for the Academic Advising Support (OAAS).What You'll Do:Communications:

Develops communications campaigns for students, faculty, and other campus partners. Creates strategies and content, directs and sends communications to targeted populations, and analyzes success of communications campaigns. Develops communications for FYAS-eligible students. Manages updates and analytics reporting for department website(s) and oversees the FYAS email account and chat functions.Data Analysis:

Collects and analyzes data to make recommendations regarding support for students in prerequisite match courses. Leads the annual review and revision of the "Path to Math" document. Makes recommendations to faculty on tutoring and course syllabi.Customer Service Management:

Manages 3 - 4 students who answer questions about the FYAS program, including hiring, training, and performance management. Ensures inquiries from students and families are answered and performs troubleshooting on difficult issues.Operations and Budget Management:

Serves as the primary office contact for all internal and external constituencies. Monitors and reconciles all budget activities within FYAS and OAAS. Oversees payroll, catering, ProCard purchases, billing, and budget transfers.Staff Supervision:

Supervises student staff of 2-6 (Student Assistants and FYAS Tutors), responsible for hiring, firing, performance management, and salary reviews.Financial Oversight:

Monitors and reconciles all financial activities associated with the area budget within the FYAS program and OAAS.What You'll Need:Bachelor's degree required.
