Our client, a major company in the energy sector, is seeking a Communications Specialist to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX for an initial 1-year contract.

Responsibilities:Support the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and risk mitigation efforts for low-carbon ventureWork closely with GA and communications teams to develop strategies and communicationsSupport the planning, coordination, and execution of stakeholder forumsSupport external engagements where appropriateCommunity Investment - Strategy development, Cybergrants, processing sponsorships/payment, budgetingSupport regular reporting efforts and presentations for senior management/Executive Leadership TeamMonitor community engagements and support response efforts associated with feedback mechanismsMonitor local media to glean trending issuesWork several short and long-term issues or projects concurrentlyMeet commitments and deliver project resultsCultivate diverse stakeholder supportUse communications and social skills to align people and motivate the organization to achieve goalsQualifications Required:Bachelors degree or higher in Business Administration, Communications, related discipline, or foreign equivalent3+ years of experience working with community groups, political organizations, and/or non-government organizations internally and/or externally3+ years of experience with corporate communications, stakeholder relations, and/or government affairsAdvanced level of communication skills (written, oral, and formal presentation)Advanced level of public speaking skillsAdvanced proficiency with MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and TeamsWilling and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 25% of the time on a yearly basisPreferred Qualifications:5+ years experience in energy, chemical or related industry5+ years of experience with Stakeholder Relations, Communications, Government AffairsStrong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsPractical self-starter that can work effectively with minimal supervisionDelivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goalsAnalyzes stakeholder needs, global, political, and market trends to understand how they shape the future and impact business resultsBilingual in Spanish and English
