HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSIONThe Marketing Project Manager is responsible for managing the start to finish process of developing and executing consumer-facing and trade-related advertising and marketing materials. This position reports to the Director of Creative Services.The Marketing Project Manager is responsible for receiving new project requests, completing discovery and establishing project scope, creating comprehensive project timelines and tracking work in progress. Additionally, this position will be responsible for Airtable feature updates, maintenance and user training.WHAT YOU WILL DOCreates and maintains open and collaborative lines of communication with all requestor’s organization wide and Marketing team members to ensure total awareness of all project statusesManages projects from inception to final deliverables and asset archivingOversees project timelines to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within scopeManages project workflow and communication with internal graphic designers, cross-functional teams, external advertising agencies, and promotional item vendorsManages implementation and development of the organization’s project management platform (Airtable), including assigning timetables for completion, assigning team members to execute work, fully leveraging platform advanced functionality, maintaining budgeted licenses, and training users.Participates in tri-weekly production meetings to manage timelines and develop resolutions, ensuring on-time delivery and effective cross collaboration between Marketing and all Zoo and Safari Park requestors and stakeholders.Participates in evaluating/anticipating project needs and proactively addresses any potential challenges or roadblocksAssists in archiving project digital assetsWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORJOB EXPERIENCEMinimum of 3 years of experience in project management role at a creative agency, advertising agency, graphic design firm, or related businessProfessional experience working with marketing, digital marketing, public relations, or advertising agencies.Experience in comprehensive advertising campaigns including key art development, copy writing, digital and print production, trade shows, photoshoots, and asset management.Proficiency in Airtable project management software program, MS Office administrative software programs, and Adobe Creative Suite design programsEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in related field required.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEStrong project managements skills including the ability to effectively prioritize and manage all stakeholder expectations.Strong understanding of creative conceptualization process and vision.Must be able to relate to understand, and support the needs of creative team members.Extremely organized, detailed oriented, pro-active, and results driven.Strategic, critical thinker and creative problem solver with big picture in mind.Natural history, wildlife conservation, zoology, or biology background is desirable.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Self-motivated, positive outlook, can-do personality.Can thrive under pressure in fast-paced, deadline driven, and constantly changing environment with evolving project needs.Can calmly navigate thru many personalities and individual priorities and appear as the voice of reason throughout project.Clearly communicate to internal and external stakeholders.Able to operate moderately complex computer software programs.Has a strong understanding of business acumen and creative vision to execute strategic marketing plans succinctly and accurately.Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.SOME OF THE PERKS YOU WILL ENJOY AS A TEAM MEMBERFree admission to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari ParkFamily PassesComplimentary TicketsLocal and In-House DiscountsEmployee Assistance ProgramWellness ProgramIMPORTANT DETAILSLocation: San Diego,CAPosition Type: Salary Full-Time Exempt PositionSalary Range:$86,200 - $95,320
