The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and coordinate process/mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects through project startup. This position requires travel, with mobility of greater than 25% to client sites in Aiken, SC (Savannah River Site), and Houston, Texas.ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and coordinate process/mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects through project startup.Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to P&ID development.Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems, water and waste systems, and equipment design.Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.Conduct construction document reviews as required.Required SkillsBachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 5 or more years of experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy).Professional Engineering License preferred, but not required.The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.The ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance is required.This position requires travel, with mobility of greater than 25% to client sites in South Carolina (Savannah River Site). Occasionally, trips to client office in Houston may also be required.
