Internal Communications Specialist

located in our

Spring, TX

Support Center. Culture is our differentiator. At the heart of our culture is a focus on community. RTI is a fast-growing organization with unique communication needs, connecting 500+ field-based, shop, and Support Center Artisans. The Internal Communications Specialist supports our Director of Communications with communication plans, Artisan (and family) touchpoints and experiences, and drives our primary communication tools.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey resource supporting OneSource (primary internal communication tool)

Maintains integrity of intranet by monitoring department content weekly.Reviews data analytics to support department publishers in meeting objectives.Sends monthly “push” emails to ensure Artisans take advantage of intranet.Supports new Artisans in utilizing intranet (training as appropriate).Develops dynamic content (people stories) to celebrate new hires, Artisan recognition, Artisan spotlights, missions events, photos, newsletter and LinkedIn stories, project accomplishments, client kudos, safety bulletins, announcements, etc.

Newsletter Support

Manage addresses for newsletter distribution and monitor newsletter costs.Develop stories for multi-page quarterly newsletter.Work with EVP Community, Director of Communications, and 3rd party to produce engaging content.

Leading Development and Implementation of Communication Campaigns

Work through communication campaign planning to identify objectives, craft key messages, develop comms plan, and integrate change management concepts.Develop OneSource stories to inform and equip Artisans.Create slides for office screens communicating the new initiative.Coordinate and promote training sessions.Develop videos to support new initiatives.Build surveys to generate feedback from Artisans.

Engagement Leader

Organize events for Artisans and their families to foster connection and celebration.Promote (hype and follow-up) on RTI Spouses Facebook group.

Website Support

Update external website, as relates to Internal Communications.

Video Support

Record and edit small video projects for internal and external distribution.

Support Summit

(planning and execution)

Special projects, development of screens, Artisan program, etc.Develop and execute communications plan for overall Summit planning, hype, delivery, and follow-up.

Missions Support

(working with EVP Community; 5-10 hours/week)

Coordinate care for Artisans on prayer request list with office managers (sending meals, flowers, encouragement notes, etc.).Setup meetings with non-profit partners and provide support for engagement (e.g. MLK Day event, Richey Academy support, Global 6K).Update quarterly dashboards tracking progress in various missions categories (e.g. child sponsorships, chaplain visits, charitable donations, benevolence program, etc.).Facilitate communication plans for missions activities, write OneSource stories about missions progress, engage Artisans in our philanthropic work.

RequirementsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Communications or related field required.3-5 years of experience in a Communications or related role required.Experience with communication campaign planning, development, and execution.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products, SharePoint, and Vimeo.Intermediate graphic design skills, specifically in Canva (layout, typography, branding consistency, etc.).Demonstrated commitment to philanthropic work.Working knowledge of UPS, FedEx, etc.Additional or Preferred QualificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills & attention to detail; strong writer and editor; adept at layouts.People oriented, relational and helpful, passionate about culture.Interacts with Artisans, clients, partners, and vendors in a professional manner.Able to identify priorities and demonstrate courage to ask for help, pushback, improve suggestions from stakeholders.Professional appearance and manner.Ability to multi-task, adapts to changing priorities, identifies and handles stress well.Working Conditions / Physical DemandsOffice EnvironmentOn your feet and lifting/setting up during events!Travel RequirementsThis position needs to connect with Artisans in all offices, virtually and in person. Travel to support internal events is likely and varied (

NOTE:

Support Center Artisans are working a hybrid schedule. 3 days/week in the office and 2 days/week at home. However, several weeks require multiple days in the office (e.g. New Hire Orientation week, Summit, etc.).
