You'll have creative license to share all that Portland, Maine has to offer, all while delighting and entertaining the local audience who call it home. Your primary objective? To kickstart someone's day with a dose of local positivity while also leading this iconic brand into the future, not to mention playing the top hits of the day.

Responsibilities

Champion the Station's Brand:

Take full ownership of the station's brand, ensuring it shines both on air and in the digital realm.

Fresh Imaging:

Collaborate with the station "voice" to keep the station's imaging fresh, including timely promotions for upcoming events.

Drive Revenue Generation:

Collaborate closely with sales leadership to boost revenue through on-air and digital endorsements, exciting features, and engaging promotions.

Active Participation:

Be actively involved in other programming and sales meetings as requested, contributing to the station's overall success.

Provide Regular Updates:

Keep the Director of Content informed with weekly updates on the terrestrial and digital progress of the station.

Engage in Collaborative Meetings:

Participate in periodic meetings with the Townsquare Classic Hits Format Leader, fostering collaboration and alignment.

Produce Commercials:

Create commercial productions on a daily basis or as needed, ensuring top-notch quality.

Foster Local Content:

Generate creative and engaging local content ideas not only for your show but also for other shows to enhance the station's appeal.

Weekend Coverage:

Take charge of weekend coverage.

Social Media Engagement:

Maintain an active presence on Facebook by posting daily updates before and during your show, enhancing the station's online visibility (Note: these posts do not count towards content creation requirements).

Leverage Your Station’s App:

Create and schedule multiple daily App Alerts to keep your brand's audience informed and engaged, enhancing the overall user experience.

Qualifications

History of original written digital content.

Knowledge of basic FCC rules and regulations.

Must have superior knowledge of current events and Contemporary hits.

Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels, multi-task, and handle pressures and deadlines.

Skill in operation of control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment.

Quickly become proficient in NexGen and Adobe Audition.

Computer literacy in applicable programs and excellent verbal communication skills.

Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.

Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing.
