Music Director (Part-Time)
Christ Our Hope Anglican Church – Fort Collins, CO
Christ Our Hope Anglican Church (COH) in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking a part-time music director to oversee all aspects of the musical life of the church. This position reports to the rector (lead pastor) with frequent, close collaboration with two other part-time staff members.
About Our Church
COH is a small, multigenerational congregation that has been serving Fort Collins and the surrounding community since 2004. We believe that the gospel should lie at the center of all that we say and do, that we are called to extend Christ’s invitation to gather around his table to our neighbors, that every blessing we have received can be used for the sake of the kingdom, and that beauty is one of the tools that God uses to draw people to himself. We are firmly rooted in the Reformation Anglican tradition as part of the Anglican Diocese of the Rocky Mountains. Our identity and convictions are reflected in our musical worship, which encompasses a wide variety of styles and often varies according to the church calendar.
Qualifications
● Must be an active and growing disciple of Jesus Christ
● Willing to join COH and be an active member of the body, including participation in a small group
● Demonstrated musical proficiency in an instrument such as guitar or piano along with vocal leadership capability
● Previous experience leading a church music team is preferred, but we would be willing to allow the right candidate to grow into the position
● Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities
● Plan, coordinate, and lead all aspects of worship music for the church
● Select music for each service that aligns with the values and theology of the church and supports the themes of the church calendar and weekly sermons
● Communicate regularly with the rector and parish administrator re: Sunday worship details
● Manage monthly scheduling of music volunteers
● Recruit, mentor, and encourage both the spiritual and musical growth of musicians
● Oversee copyright and licensing compliance for in-print and online music copyright
Time Commitment/Pay/Compensation
● Pay is $25 per hour with a monthly pay period.
● Approximately 10 hours of work per week, with more during Christmas/Easter.
