PSD/Fashion Design BFAResponsibilities:This is a great opportunity for a well-organized and creative student to work on the development and creation of digital content and platform for art / fashion / curation-based research project.You will work independently and collaboratively with primary researcher, from publications to graphic design to online media. The Digital Content assistant will have the opportunity to work on creative projects in photo and video while acquiring in-demand real-world skills of digital asset management and production.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between

SENS - UAW , Local 7902 and the University.

Responsibilities will include:Development & building of existing placeholder website via Squarespace, and contributing to design, flow and navigation of site including integration of time based media and still imagery. Digital Graphic design and layoutUnderstanding and contributing to linked social media content and strategyManaging, creating and publishing original, high quality content on social platform.Gather contentResponding to replies and direct messages on Instagram, and emailCollecting and analyzing data generated by these efforts, and suggesting changes in strategy based on that dataAttending weekly check-in meetings in person or via ZoomLiaison and communication with identified artists and designersDesign, publication and organization of press releases.Contribution, design and organization of digital client / artist database.Contribution to organization of New York based events / gallery presentationsAttending New York based events / gallery presentations

Applicants must be able to work independently, in a team and under the direction of primary researcher.

Candidates should beNew York based. Undergraduate or Graduate level student studying visual arts based subject: Fine Art, Graphic Design, Information Design, Design & Technology, Design strategies etc with an interest in art curation, digital design, Website development and information technologyDesign and visually aware

Work mode: Hybrid- remote and in person

Salary- $22.08 per hour

Organized with competent working knowledge of Squarespace, Microsoft Office, Google docs, Sheets, Sites etc. and Adobe Creative Suite ( inDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop etc ) Canva, etc.. Able to drive and meet deadlines and ask for help when neededEnthusiastic about building communityCommitted to equity and inclusionThe academic value of the research to the student assistant will be 2-fold:Experience of curatorial practice, curation, staging and organizing gallery / public exhibition spaces and events: engagement with artists and designers, networking, public outreach, event organization, visual image making and graphic design, web design and development of effective social media strategies.
