The Graphic Web Designer will oversee website design, marketing graphics, and daily web maintenance and updates. This position will report to the Director of PR/Communications in the Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) and will work closely with the department webmaster to manage websites. This is a hybrid office position, requiring on-campus presence for staff meetings and events, with flexibility to work from home on certain days of the week.Responsibilities

The Graphic Web Designer will oversee the following:Design and construct web pages/sites including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques.Maintain and provide ongoing design for web pages, promos, ad banners, email campaigns, newsletters, social media posts, logos, and other graphical marketing assets as needed.Develop creative and compelling visual media assets to enhance research communications.Work closely with stakeholders to create, update, and maintain departmental websites. Working knowledge of WordPress is a plus.Adhere to University branding guidelines and standards.Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.The Graphic Web Designer will also:Be detail-oriented and communicative.Adhere to project timelines.Demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to evolving projects.Engage with stakeholders and develop positive relationships.Plan projects in advance and ensure stakeholders are always updated throughout the project process.Use good judgment, tact, and diplomacy.

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must have a working knowledge of HTML.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.Submission of portfolio or graphic art work/web designs is required. Please upload in “Applicant Document – Other.”Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for websites and graphic design. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.
