TBDGeneral Description

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part-time Music Instructor for our Aural Skills I course. This course is taught in person in a classroom setting on our Sanborn, NY campus and focuses on aural perception, audiation, sight-singing, and dictation training of rhythm, melody, and harmony. Class sessions will consist of individual and group participation activities to build training in aural perception, with instructional methods including listening examples and outside practice.In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time, and applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis.Typical Work Activities

Teach course on campus.Track attendance as needed.Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester.Report grades at the conclusion of the semester.Essential Functions

Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors, and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information, operate computers, and adjust any teaching to the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions.Required Qualifications

Three years of experience teaching at a high school or college level.Desirable Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Music or related field.Experience using Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word).Experience with the Brightspace learning management system.About SUNY Niagara
