Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital Content Creator is a digital storyteller, responsible for identifying, capturing, and sharing stories illustrating BPS in action. The Specialist will produce a variety of informative and promotional videos, graphics and digital media content intended to showcase and increase awareness of BPS activities, initiatives, programs, goals, special events, achievements and other news-worthy items. This position will also encompass duties related to developing, editing, designing and publishing content on district websites and expanding the district’s use of social media. The Specialist also provides support in graphic design, writing, editing and distributing news releases and taking accompanying photographs and video. The position is part of the Communications Team, which collaborates with other District campuses and departments on various communication materials, events and program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Identifies positive stories that would be enhanced through the use of video and/or still photography.Creates engaging content, both static and video, for the district’s website, e-newsletter, social media, and other media platforms.Provides photography and videography services at District and school events as needed.Posts news stories, district publications and events on the district’s website to ensure timely and accurate informationDevelops strategies to expand the engagement and reach of the district’s social media.Monitors, compiles, analyzes, and reports usage metrics for website, e-newsletters, campaigns, advertisements, promotions and social media channels.Composes, designs, and edits a variety of brand-consistent materials including, but not limited to, brochures, advertisements, presentations, posters, guides, news releases, promotional materials, website and social media posts, and e-newsletters.Proofreads and fact-checks the organization's communications before publishing content on social media, website and other digital media.Develops and maintains design guidelines, digital assets, templates, and graphic archives.Works collaboratively with the Communications Team, other departments, schools, and outside stakeholders on various campaigns, events and projects to ensure the goals of the district are being met.Occasionally works before or after regular work hours, which may include weekendsPerforms related duties as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications preferred.Minimum of two (w) years of experience creating superior content for print and digital platforms.Strong photography, videography, and video production skills.Knowledge of major social media platforms, management tools and use of engagement metrics.Adept at managing multiple projects within tight deadlines and maintaining publishing schedules using a project management system/process.Skilled at using mass communication tools for designing and publishing.Knowledgeable at managing online content with a content management system (CMS).Excellent graphic design, typography, color and layout skills.Bilingual a plus but not required.This job description is not, nor is it intended to be, a complete statement of all duties, functions, responsibilities, qualifications, physical, and cognitive, which comprise this position.
